A question asked by dharmielhorlargh: how long does it take to transfer money from a natwest account to another natwest account using online banking?
i transferred 60 pounds from my natwest account to another natwest account using online banking and the other account owner claims he hasn’t seen it please how long does this take to get to the other account??

A question from daboywonder2002: why does it take a whole week for my online banking bill pay to go through?
i finally set up online banking.through my bank. and so i added my landlord so i can pay him. but it says he wont receive it until nov 8. why does it take so long??? regular mail will only take 2-3 days

I’ve had the same problem. Apparently some vendors are set up for electronic funds transfer, and those payments go quickly. Others are not set up for EFT, and so checks are mailed, and it takes the bank a day or two to cut the check, it takes a few days for the mail, etc. The bank doesn’t actually show it as paid until the check has cleared back through the system.

I paid them online Saturday morning; they still haven’t paid the bills at 12:55 Monday. Is this usual?

it depends on which bank the money was sent to. if your bank is the same as the bank the person/company you sent money to then it may be done the same day (banking days are normally only mon-fri though so saturday wont count) but if it is a different bank it can take 3-5 working days.

they mention it’s 15 hours on their website..is that real?

Question posed by RassyBeds: Why does it take online banking services 3 days to clear payments when the transactions are all electronic?
When I transfer money between online bank accounts, I don’t understand why it takes three days to clear. I undertand this used to be the case when I used to pay cheques into the bank manually and staff had to process these, but I don’t expect this when this is done electronically.

It takes three days if different organisations are involved as the money still needs to go through a clearing cycle and also all transactions need to be monitored for money laundering purposes. so although it isn’t involving staff manually working the transfers still have to go through certain processes before they can be cleared for use in the other organisation.

sometimes it takes an hour other time with other banks up to 5 days …

A question asked by its me: how long wil it take for transactions to appear on my internet banking?
ok so i just got my first credit card but the thing is ive bought a couple of things with it today and the transactions havent shown up on my internet banking its with capital one is it just that i need to wait a while for the transations to show?

Credit card transactions usually take one or two business days to appear. The date it does appear is called the “posting date”. The delay is caused because your bank is not told about the transaction right away; the mastercard network or the visa network need to transfer the transaction to your bank and that takes a while.
