There is nothing illegal, but I am just concerned about identity theft and I don’t like giving out my information (License, SS#, etc.) online to companies. I was going to open a bank account with a major bank using their online application. If I use a different name, diff. SS#, etc. will things be okay? That is, will the account be processed and can I use it (primarily online)? Or do they do “cross references” to verify everything.

This is, again, not for any wrongdoing, just anonymity. This is a secondary account.
