A question asked by I love Yahoo! Answers: Somewhat confused about online banking & transaction history?
Hi,
I recently signed up for a new, student, checking and savings account. The bank I am with allows for completely paperless, online, tracking and transactions. Tonight I used the card several times and am able to see my available balance, but not it says my transaction history is not yet available. Shouldn’t this be instant? Is online tracking reliable? Should I just use paper on my own?
Please help.
Most comprehensive answer:
Answer by trubble2u2 Generally, transaction history would be instant but only if your bank does that. Not all banks are current with the technology it depends on your bank. If your bank does not allow instant transaction history, then it is wise to go the old fashion route and just use paper and pen.

A question from Curly: Is it okay to go online banking when you have a virus? ?
I have a Trojan Vundo and cant get rid of it, and I reminded myself to not go online banking, online shopping or anything like that. And today I just went on Wells Fargo online banking to transfer some money. And then my bro came in, and hes like are you stupid. Never do that when you have a virus. So I logged off. And should I now change the password using him internet on his computer? What should I do?
Most comprehensive answer:
Answer by Anthony R no, it could be spyware wich will let the guy that sent you the virus know your username and password

One of the best videos I have come across on the subject of internet banking.
George Osborne says that we all must pay more taxes and receive fewer public services. According to the chancellor there is no Plan B for the UK economy – but he’s utterly wrong. We could make one simple spending cut that could make all others unnecessary. Here’s Plan B: cut the benefits to bankers! Banks are the most heavily subsidised businesses in the world, specially protected by governments. While the money runs out for the rest of us, the largest private banks still thrive. This is because they get the biggest subsidy of them all – the licence to print money. Hard to believe? Martin Wolf, the Chief Economics Editor at the Financial Times, said it recently: “The essence of the contemporary monetary system is the creation of money, out of nothing, by private banks’ often foolish lending…” You heard that right. Private banks create money out of nothing! Then they loan it to us and ask for interest on top! If you’ve ever wondered why the bank buildings around the world soar higher than any palace or spire ever did, you now have the answer. But the banks don’t simply print money using secret printing presses in their basements. They don’t have to. Like so many other things these days, printing money has now gone digital. With the popular use of debit cards, electronic fund transfers, and internet banking, only 3% of the money in the UK is now made of paper and metal coins. The other 97% is entirely in computers. Electronic money is convenient for everyone, but it’s …
