I’ve had the same problem. Apparently some vendors are set up for electronic funds transfer, and those payments go quickly. Others are not set up for EFT, and so checks are mailed, and it takes the bank a day or two to cut the check, it takes a few days for the mail, etc. The bank doesn’t actually show it as paid until the check has cleared back through the system.
Not sure, things clear for me in a 2 days, maybe it’s the way its processed.
My bank usually tells me the same thing to cover their ***** in case there is a delay for some reason. For example, if I went in today to pay my electric bill, it would tell me the scheduled payment date is 11/9. But it usually clears the bank in 2-3 days.
Maybe do it next month when you have a couple of days to play with (like do it through the bank on the 29th or something) and see how long it actually takes to post.
