Internet banking can reach a enormous amount of people who make deposits and the FDIC only insures to a set amount so the total deposits can easily exceed the amount or insurance the bank is able to purchase so if anything happens you lose
The advantage of internet banking is that it is fast and quick. The disadvantage is that there might be glitches in the bank IT system that would generate errors in the system. so , you have to verify always your transactions after being done.
Disadvantage is that you can’t do any cash transactions through the mail.
