Somewhat confused about online banking & transaction history?
December 14th, 2009 | by The Banker |I love Yahoo! Answers asked:
Hi,
Hi,
I recently signed up for a new, student, checking and savings account. The bank I am with allows for completely paperless, online, tracking and transactions. Tonight I used the card several times and am able to see my available balance, but not it says my transaction history is not yet available. Shouldn’t this be instant? Is online tracking reliable? Should I just use paper on my own?
Please help.

You should always keep track of your spending Most banks update during the early hours of the morning. you should see items in yor pending but your balance will not update immediately..

Keep your check register… it is still the most reliable way to keep a running balance on a checking account.
The banks don’t always update instantly. It could be that their server is down and then you get this “sorry… ” message.

It depends on where you have recently swiped your card. Some companies don’t close out their credit card machine until a certain amount of money has been earned. Others put it through as soon as you swipe it. Wait another day, it will show up.
