Is it wise to open a Bank account strictly for use over the internet? I.e. Ebay, Amazon, Etsy?

I really want to be able to buy things over the internet, but I am rather cautious about fraud. I was hoping that by opening an account that I can transfer the requisite amount of money, and thereby should it get hacked, there would be very little to gain.

Is this a wise idea, or am I just too hopeful?

Hey,
I see this as being a great idea! You could manage this account online and there would never be a mix up of which account or card. Also, if fraud did happen it would only tie up your “spare” account instead of freezing your main account. Which I assume you use your main account for daily things.
