They gave me an ATM card with my electric orange checking if that helps. It’s not a mastercard, just an ATM card. They also allow you to write checks from their online interface. Oh yeah they also have competitive rates for CDs.

ING Direct is primarily for online banking, but they do have physical branches in selected (usually big) cities. They also have a few ATMs, and do provide a bank card. However, the best way to bank with them is to have a checking account with a “normal” bank to facilitate transfer (deposit/withdrawals) of funds between ING and that account. The back and forth transfers normally take about one business day.

The funds deposited in ING are FDIC and CDIC insured. I have had accounts with them for several years, and I love dealing with them.

IngDirect has a branch on Howe Street, Vancouver, BC. The Bank provide excellent customer services. It pays higher interest rate than most other banks and they have a more flexible mortgage loans. One thing you should look into is their RRSP – Street Wise Fund. Your money are secured just like any other Chartered Banks so there is nothing to worry about. I am one of their customers and yes, they do provide debit cards and passbooks.
