smallest possible, a T1 line is 1.5 MB and that supports the small company i work for.

Ok when it says MB it means how much data can come to you at one time so lets say you have internet that gives you 10mb’s per sec that mean you would get 10MB’s per second for loading a page so if a page is only 20kb it would look really fast and downloads would move much faster so it all depends on how fast you wanna go and if you wanna get a fiber optic internet go with fios

I think fibre optic is over kill, if that what you only do on the net, if you don’t use it to download torrent and stuff, and just surf and check mail, 2gb to 5gb is big enough bandwidth for your that about 2000mb and 5000mb if you plan to downloadstuff and play a lot of videos, you need to get more than 5gb.

Get as much as you can comfortably afford to begin with,I’m sure you can change it later, after you use it and determine how much you really use.
