I think my question is rather self-explanatory. The only jobs I have ever gotten were through good, old fashioned networking.

yeah i got my current job from having my resume posted on one of them. i just got a call out of the blueone day and here i am a year later still in that job
I got hired, through Monser.com, I had a couple of offers and after 2wks I accepted one! Best thing I ever did!!!
I think Monster is actually a really good resource. I’ve gotten a job off it before and my husband has as well.
My friend got a great job with first magnus through monster.com about 6 months ago and he is still there.
yes, just got two calls from employers that my resume was sent from monster.
I have never even got called back from anything I submitted through Monster or my CareerNetwork. However, I have gotten several good jobs and interviews from careerbuilder.com. Best one in my opinion.
I found my current job of 7 yrs via Monster.com. I mean it doesn’t hurt to use these sites and it’s a form of networking anyways since your making yourself available to companies that are looking to hire. Their free to use so what do you really have to lose? College career fairs are also a great way to get yourself to meet companies face to face.
Good Luck
Piddy,
I had three interviews at large corporations and had an opportunity to work for two of them. In other words, YES. The resume and the interview are crucial to being hired through these services. Many companies will interview you if you meet their qualifications. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,

I actually got my current position from monster.com
That’s certainly the best way to find a job, but it isn’t the only way. Sites like monster.com are popular for a reason; I’ve hired many employees off of job posting sites.
They do only it’s much rarer than they’d have you believe! Because job-banks are a public source, resumes are retrieved more on key-words than anything else or by “head-hunters” who just grab only exactly what they need from many thousands of candidates. It’s like a stack of resumes on a desk that’s a hundred feet high! I’ve had the same experience as you though it does help in the job-hunting process in putting what you need together and getting the advice most job-banks offer.
My husband (IT) and I (journalist) have found every job we’ve had in the last 9 years solely through online job banks or industry-specific online sites.
not sure but i read in the newspaper the other day that websites like this and myspace and face book are easy for people to ***** into and steal identities……
YES! I had a great opportunity-a recruiter 3000 miles away saw my resume on Monster.com and was so impressed with my phone interview, he set up an interview with the local manager (at the site I would be working). Told me it was just a formality…but I already had the job!
Don’t give up……it’s just a matter of time and ALOT of patience!
GOOD LUCK!
