A wireless connection simply means that you will both be able to see who is on the internet connection. Yes, it is possible to hack into you computer via this connection but so is it possible from any connection. Best thing to do is simply get a good anti-malware or anti-virus programs such as Norton. i would not worry too much about this however ZoneAlarm is a software that includes anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware and will tell you if anyone is browsing through your files.

The short answer is no, but the long answer is yes.
Your bank login will be fine, UNLESS she has some crafty software, and a keystroke logger. Bank logins are encrypted as are all of the transactions taking place inside the site. It isn’t impossible, but it takes hours and hours of dedicated computer time to get even a hint of things.

Now, any idiot can follow you right in to your Facebook account using a method called “sidejacking”. Any transaction that are NOT encrypted, are an open book on a wireless network. Not the case on a wired connection. You can use SSL to defeat sidejacking, if you think it needs defeating.

As far as her seeing things ON your computer… Mostly no, unless they are in shared folders, but again it isn’t impossible, just very time consuming.

My guess is you don;t have anything to worry about, but if you do… well, she already read this post didn’t she?

If she is nosey enough and has the proper software, yes. If the wireless is not secure then anyone with proper software and close by can too.

Have no fear! Everything sent from secure websites like banks and stuff is encrypted. The encryption technology is really strong, it would take the NSA to ***** it! As far as personal stuff, no way anyone will ever know other than your browser history.
