Question by John M: Do all online banking services lag?
I have online banking at my bank, but when I buy something, it takes 2-3 days to show up in my transactions log, and when it does, it’s all out of order (based on the order that I bought the items throughout the day). I haven’t tried any other banks, so I don’t know if this is standard for all online banking services.
Is there a bank that has really top notch online banking, specifically real time transaction logs (or close to it)?

Answer by Scott1120 It depends on the merchant sometimes and not just the bank. Some merchants will post the transactions the same day while other may take up to 2 or 3 days sometimes.

i need to send money to a friend its very important as they are in a bad situation and was wondering if im with westpac and there with commonwealth and i transfer them money through internet banking, the money has been taken out of my account and a payment slip was shown which i didnt save…how long is it going to take for them to receive the money ? plus its a public holiday here today in australia??? pleaz can someoen help me i was hoping it would go in instantly or at least overnight

Answer by CarpetCat It will not be instantaneous as you are in 2 different banks. As today is a public holiday (though not in WA) the transaction will only be processed tomorrow. From there, if your friend is lucky, they’ll receive the funds by the end of tomorrow, if not, on wednesday.

I have used HSBC and they have a good online bankin envt and have quick online responses to your queries.I am not sure of the transfer rates.But shall let u know as soon as I double chek the details
A question asked by Manda: I returned an item to a store and it isnt showing up on my online banking at all?
I used my debit card to buy the item and therefore got the money credited back to it. Shouldnt I be able to see that money was credited back to me on my online banking ?? Theres no record of it and I need my money back..

Everytime I go to a bar or restaurant and use my debit card, I add a tip to the bill. On my online banking, only the amount of the bill shows up, not the amount of the bill plus what I tipped. Does this show up later or is something wrong?

Answer by Bear McNugget It will only come out as one transaction, whether you tip or not. Therefore the amount you’re seeing is the full amount INCLUDING the tip.
