Do the big companies like GE, Ford, Apple, Dell, Bank of America, and other companies really hire people from the internet or am I wasting my time? I hear the best way to get a job is to network, but what if I don’t know anyone in those companies what does a farm boy suppost to do? Coming from blue collar job in AK you don’t network with people that work at Apple in CA. Any little help on this would be nice.

I purchased expedition travel insurance from IHI – http://www.ihi.com/english.asp but my bank refused the charge saying that they thought it was fraudulent (which isn’t surprising, because I’m sending a lot of money to a company in Denmark). They said to have the insurance company resubmit it. I hadn’t considered that the company I found on the Internet might actually be fraudulent. The whois record seems to check out – but how else would I be able to tell? Are there any resources out there to check this kind of thing?

I’m on the washington mutual website and I can’t find where you reorder checks through their website. I went to FAQ and it says of course you can, but offers no information as to where you would do so.
well, i wrote the help desk and they got back to me that you have go into your checking acct file and on the left hand side there’s an “order checks” link. it worked, but it said it was charging me $20 and never said anything about reimbursing me, so i decided to go with an outside company, got 2 boxes of pretty checks for less than $10.00. And I don’t have to worry about whether that $20 will get reimbursed. $20 a box! Some nerve!!!
